CEO Michael Leiters tells journalists the platform can take "pure ICE, hybrid and also plug-in hybrid" and that "there won't be a BEV on that platform". R&D chief Michael Steiner says it "could be a very pure, lightweight" combustion car or a performance hybrid. No production date is given.

What to watch for next
- The production name. Porsche calls the Mission S a vision model; the series car will need its own name.
- The powertrain decision. Combustion, hybrid and plug-in hybrid are all on the table, per the CEO. The first technical release will settle it.
- Price and timing. Neither has been given. Porsche's strategy says that by 2030 it plans at least one brand-defining new product every year.
Each of these goes on the spec sheet and the updates log the day Porsche announces it.
